Designing and Rolling out Effective OPPE Solutions
Kaiser's Transition to an Electronic Record aided by Statit piMD

Kaiser Permanente is making a significant investment in the development and implementation of an electronic medical record (Health Connect.)  One by one, each of the hospitals in Kaiser's Northern California Region has made, or is scheduled to make, the transition to Health Connect.  The transition from care delivery supported by forms assembled in paper medical chart to care supported by an electronic medical record is no small feat.  Months of preparation and training, bolstered by lessons learned from earlier 'Go-Lives' culminated in a day that dramatically changed the delivery of health care in the hospital.

Beyond OPPE: Effective Tools to Manage Provider Group Performance

There has been a lot of focus in healthcare to meet The Joint Commission's OPPE requirements.  Statit Physician Profile and Review (PPR) provides this capability, but even more importantly, it provides tools for chiefs to understand and monitor the performance of their teams.

Important questions when assessing team performance:

  • Which providers are truly performing differently?
  • How do I assess provider performance when volumes differ so much?
  • How is my provider group performing on the various performance measures?
  • How can I easily slice and dice performance data in different ways to identify underlying performance issues?
  • How do I identify which providers are not meeting targets on multiple measures?
  • How do I keep my eye on performance?

Designing and Rolling out Effective OPPE Solutions a complimentary webinar presented by ASQ

Midas+ Statit Solutions Group is pleased to sponsor this webinar series which offers a real-time virtual presentation that demonstrates how healthcare organizations and professionals have applied quality tools and practices to improve healthcare delivery.

You'll want to view this recorded webinar today! As most healthcare organizations begin to address ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE) mandated by The Joint Commission, there are many obstacles as well as opportunities for rolling this out successfully. Marion Yerxa will share her experiences of developing / deploying Physician Profiling to meet OPPE requirements and, even more importantly, helping the chiefs understand how their teams are performing.

    Discussion topics include:
    • Development of different Physician Profiles for different specialties
    • Measures used within Physician Profiles will change over time
    • Experiences of working with the Chiefs to roll out OPPE
    • Thoughts / experiences of exposing physician names to their peers for different indicators
    • Involving Doctors early in the review process by having them review their performance on the OPPE measures before their Chief does and to have them document any unusual performance for specific measures. This holds the Doctor more accountable for their performance and saves the Chief valuable time.
