The Center for Quality Management (CQM) is based

It offers a wide range of services to executives

continuously improving organization." CQM
has over 100 member companies and boasts such

and Solectron. Both their journal and newsletter

The College of Healthcare Information Management
Executives (CHIME) was formed after the 1991
strategic planning sessions of the HIMSS and
CHIM organizations determined the great need
for such an organization. CHIME was started
with dual purposes: (1) Serving the professional
development needs of healthcare CIOs, and (2)
Advocating the more effective use of information
management within healthcare.
Now a member of the Joint Healthcare Information
Technology Alliance (JHITA), CHIME has perfected
it's mission: "to serve the professional
needs of healthcare Chief Information Officers;
and to advance the strategic application of
information technology in innovative ways aimed
at improving the effectiveness of healthcare
delivery." Supporting Goals to this mission
include various networking events, educational
opportunities, career development opportunities;
information access; and partnership advancement

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)
was established in 1991. The focus of this non-profit
organization is to accelerate improvement in
health care systems. Their belief is that health
care organizations should collaborate, rather
than compete, to make long lasting improvements
in the industry, reducing costs while enhancing
clinical outcomes across the board. IHI provides

National Institute of Standards and Technology
Since 1988, more than 1.5 million copies of
the Baldridge Criteria have been distributed.
Over the past several years, the National Institute
of Standards and Technology has modified the
