Sometimes you have advanced notice of an upcoming
management meeting and the need for a performance
improvement status update. In many cases, the
media venue of choice is PowerPoint. When you
have the time, this exercise can go smoothly.
What about those other times when someone pops
their head in your door and says, Impromptu
meeting in 10 minutes and you are responsible
for the presentation. How often are the
words smoothly and management
reports ever used in the same sentence
unless there is a big NOT between the words?!
Statit Software comes to your rescue.
Like the magician, breathtaking magic acts
require this type of card deck or that type
of hat, etc. Our magic includes the Statit Performance
Indicator & Management Dashboard (piMD).
You can learn much more about Statit piMD by
accessing the information from http://www.statit.com/statitpimd/index.shtml
or go directly to our un-hosted demo at http://pimd.statit.com
and click on the Start piMD Demo button. With
your firm grasp on the magic, lets get
started.
Statit piMD allows you to easily create operational
measures for your core measures, operations,
finance, patient safety and other types of key
quality indicators. This very, very simple process
is further enhanced when taking those measures
and creating a number of analyses and bringing
them into a PowerPoint slide presentation. Similar
in some ways to another article entitled Transparency
Reporting through Statit piMD A Look
at Our Future, you will access this
functionality through a utility called Publish
Graphs to Directory. The screen shot is
provided below:

Through the utility provided within Statit
piMD, a chart or a series of charts can easily
be turned into a PowerPoint presentation. To
do so, one would first output the chart or series
of charts from the View and Group drop down
selections. Saving the files to a particular
directory and including the output type, image
type and type of analysis needed is simply done
through drop down boxes.
In a matter of seconds, you are done and ready
to bring them into PowerPoint. Simply open up
PowerPoint, choose File->New
and then select Photo Album from
the choices given. You then simply browse to
the folder where you saved the images (in my
case, c:\tom\Health Care) and import them in
one of a variety of ways. Based on my selections
above, PowerPoint returned the following:

There were a total of five charts returned.
For the sake of brevity, I included only this
one.
Within minutes, create slides utilizing your
operational views for managers. In no time at
all, you will be the go to person in the organization
.wait
a minute
is that a good thing?!?!
