Graph Export in Statit Express QC

Abstract: You can save the most recently produced graph in Statit Express QC as either a bitmap (*.bmp) or a windows metafile (*wmf). This feature allows you to include control chart as part of a report, web page, or presentation. You may want to use other applications to customize a saved graph.

Product: Statit Express QC

To save a graph:

1. Be certain that the Graph Window is active; then select File -> Save Graph…
The Save Graph dialog box is opened.
2. You will be asked for a file name.
Try to pick a descriptive name that will help you remember the graph if you haven’t seen if for a while. It is always a good idea to note the folder you are putting the new fie into too. It might save you some searching and worrying.
3. Pick a file type to save you graph as (*.wmf, *.bmp, *.*).
If you want to edit a control chart as a Microsoft Office Drawing save your graph as a windows metafile (*.wmf). Bitmap files (*.bmp) can be edited with applications such as Microsoft Paintbrush.

In order to edit a Statit Express QC feature as a Microsoft Drawing, save a Statit Express QC graph in (*.wmf) format by following the steps above.

Then, for example, in Microsoft PowerPoint, choose: Insert -> Picture -> From file and insert the saved file. Double click on the image that is pasted and answer yes to the Question box that asks "Convert to a Microsoft Office Drawing?" and edit virtually any static feature of the graph as you would any other Drawing object. Remember this does not work with any of the popup windows from a Statit Express QC hotspot. These features are not saved and cannot be edited. You can’t edit individual features of a bitmap image either.
